ATEE Annual Conference 2026

The following post-conference publication opportunities will be available to participants of the ATEE Annual Conference 2026:

a Special Issue of the European Journal of Teacher Education (EJTE);
a Special Issue of the journal Pedagogika;
an edited volume to be published in the ATEE-Routledge Book Series;
the ATEE 2026 Book of Proceedings.

Journal Special Issues and the ATEE-Routledge Edited Volume

Authors interested in developing their conference contribution for one of the journal Special Issues or the ATEE-Routledge edited volume will be invited to submit an extended abstract by 15 October 2026.

The extended abstract should include:

  • the provisional title of the manuscript;
  • the names and institutional affiliations of all authors;
  • the preferred publication outlet;
  • the purpose and main argument of the proposed manuscript;
  • the theoretical or conceptual framework;
  • the methodology, where applicable;
  • the main or anticipated findings;
  • the contribution of the manuscript to teacher education research;
  • a brief explanation of how the manuscript will extend the original conference presentation.

Extended abstracts will be assessed by the respective editorial teams based on their academic quality, originality, relevance to the conference theme, and suitability for the proposed publication outlet.

Publication Timeline

  1. 15 October 2026 deadline for submitting extended abstracts;
  2. 15 November 2026 authors informed about the outcome of the selection process and the proposed publication outlet;
  3. 31 January 2027 deadline for submitting full manuscripts;
  4. February-May 2027 editorial assessment and peer-review process;
  5. from June 2027 onwards revisions, final editorial decisions, and publication in accordance with the schedule of each publication outlet.

Authors may be offered a publication outlet different from the one initially indicated if the editors consider it more appropriate for the focus and format of the proposed manuscript.

An invitation to submit a full manuscript does not guarantee publication. All manuscripts will undergo the standard editorial assessment and peer-review procedures of the respective journal or book series.
