Association for Teacher Education in Europe

Welcome from the President

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

It is my great pleasure to welcome you all to the ATEE annual conference held in beautiful Białystok, Poland.

As President of ATEE, I am especially delighted that we gather at a very special moment — the 50th anniversary of our Association. For half a century, ATEE has united teacher educators, researchers, and policymakers across Europe and beyond, fostering collaboration and innovation in teacher education. This milestone invites us not only to celebrate our achievements but also to look ahead with renewed commitment to shaping the future of teaching and learning.

At a time when education systems face rapid change and new global challenges, it is more important than ever to discuss, reflect on, and strengthen teacher education — the very foundation of quality learning and equitable societies. This conference provides us with a unique opportunity to exchange ideas, share research, and inspire one another in our collective mission.

I wish you an inspiring and memorable conference filled with meaningful dialogue, new ideas, and lasting connections.

Conference Chair

Faculty of Education, University of Białystok

Welcome from the Chair

It is my great pleasure to invite you to the ATEE Annual Conference 2026, to be held from the 25th to the 28th of August 2026 in Białystok, Poland.

For me personally this conference carries a very special meaning. My connection with the ATEE goes back many years, marked by inspiring collaborations, professional friendships, and shared commitment to advancing teacher education across Europe. I am deeply honoured that, after hosting the ATEE Spring Conference in 2018, we now have the privilege of welcoming the ATEE community back to Białystok – this time for the Annual Conference.

The ATEE has always been, for many of us, more than just an academic association. It is a true professional home: a place of intellectual exchange, warmth, and collegiality. I hope that this conference will – once again – provide space for meaningful dialogue, new partnerships, and renewed inspiration for our collective work as teacher educators.

We look forward to seeing you in Białystok… to share ideas, research, and friendship in our community of openness and collaboration.
